About us

St. Michael's Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and a member congregation of the ELCA's New Jersey Synod.  St. Michael's celebrates its anniversary of organization on All Saints Sunday (the first Sunday of November).  The congregation was established in 1958. 





The Reverend Russell F. Haab is full-time Interim Pastor as of October 1, 2019.  Pastor Haab has been called to serve in the ordained ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in the Office of Word and Sacrament for 33 years.  He recently retired from St. John’s in Slatington, PA where he was Pastor since 2000. Previously he was Pastor at First Lutheran Church of Throggs Neck in Bronx, NY from 1994 to 2000 and Pastor at St. Paul’s in Narrowsburg, NY from 1986 to 1994. Pastor Haab is a graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (M.Div.) and University of Rochester (B.A. Economics). Russell is married to Lynn.  They are parents to five children and grandparents to seven.  In his spare time, he likes to ride his bicycle and kayak. 

Director of Music, Mark P. Dishong, joined St. Michael's staff in March 1, 2013.  Mark previously served Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Berlin, NJ (1996-2013).  He is a graduate of Susquehanna University ('92) Bachelor of Music Education.  Mark is an elementary school music teacher in Medford Township where he has worked since 1994.
