What can I Expect?
Meaningful Worship
Our worship is rooted in Lutheran tradition while speaking to everyday life. Through scripture, prayer, music, preaching, and Holy Communion, we gather to encounter God's grace and grow in faith together. Whether you're a lifelong churchgoer or have never been inside a sanctuary before, you'll be able to follow along and participate at your own comfort level.
Authentic Community
At St. Michael's, you'll find people from many backgrounds, experiences, occupations, family structures, and stages of life. Some have been here for decades. Others arrived recently. Many are exploring questions of faith, purpose, and belonging. No matter where you are on your journey, there is a place for you here.
First Time Visitor FAQ
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable. On a typical Sunday you'll see everything from jeans and sneakers to business casual attire. There is no dress code.
How long is worship?
Most worship services last about one hour.
What if I've never been to a Lutheran church?
You're not alone. Everything is explained as we go, and there is no expectation that visitors know what to do or say.
Will I be singled out as a visitor?
No. We would love to meet you, but you will never be asked to stand up, introduce yourself publicly, or do anything that makes you uncomfortable.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely. Children are a valued part of our community. Wiggles, whispers, and curious questions are all welcome. There are children's activity kits available in our "Little Lutheran Lair" in the narthex. You can click here to read a letter for "Parents with young children in church".
What about Communion?
We celebrate Holy Communion regularly and welcome all who seek God's grace to come to the table. If you have questions about Communion or participation in worship, pastor would be happy to speak with you.

At St. Michael's Lutheran Church, we believe every person is created in God's image and worthy of dignity, respect, and love. Whether you are new to faith, returning after time away, questioning, searching, confident in your beliefs, uncertain about what you believe, single, partnered, married, divorced, widowed, young, old, or anywhere in between, you are welcome here. Our goal is not to have all the answers. Our goal is to walk together as we seek God, love our neighbors, and serve our community.
Faith grows through relationships. St. Michael's offers opportunities for worship, learning, service, fellowship, and community engagement throughout the year. You can participate at whatever level feels comfortable for you. Whether you're looking for a church home or simply curious about faith, we'd love to help you get connected.
After worship, stay for a few minutes. Many people gather after worship for conversation, coffee, and fellowship. There is no pressure to sign up for anything or become a member. We'd simply love the opportunity to get to know you and answer any questions you may have.
